Hundreds of business and community leaders from across the Twin Cities metro came together January 4 to celebrate the grand opening of Mystic Lake Center—the newest event space and hotel rooms in the Twin Cities.
To kick off 2018, Mystic Lake Center will offer the newest hotel rooms and event space in the Twin Cities. Upon completion, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel will be the second-largest hotel in the seven-county Twin Cities region, with 766 total rooms.
Mystic Lake Center is offering hard hat tours for groups and businesses to learn more about hosting a meeting or event in the soon-to-open space.
GREATER MSP, an economic development organization serving the Minneapolis-Saint Paul region, recently toured Mystic Lake Center.
Mystic Lake Center features dynamic glass from SageGlass®, a global company headquartered in Faribault, Minnesota. SageGlass is the pioneer of the world’s smartest electrochromic glass and the ultimate connector between the built and natural environments.

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is overseeing construction of Mystic Lake Center, and the project is on schedule to be completed on time. The nine-story hotel tower is now fully-enclosed and the installation of the SageGlass windows has begun. Over the next month, crews will complete the exterior of the convention center and install drywall throughout the interior of the facility.

Construction of Mystic Lake Center – Mystic Lake Casino Hotel’s new hotel tower and state-of-the-art convention center – passed the midpoint this week, with completion set for late 2017. Hundreds of Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community elected leaders and employees, Mystic Lake team members, and workers who are constructing the new building gathered for a “topping-off” ceremony on March 7 to celebrate passing the milestone. The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Gaming Enterprise (SMSCGE) broke ground on Mystic Lake Center, a 70,000-square-foot meeting facility and a new 180-room hotel tower attached to the iconic Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, in early May. SageGlass, the world’s smartest electrochromic glass, will install over 11,000 square feet of dynamic glass on the western façade of Mystic Lake Center, slated to open in late 2017. New hotel tower and “Mystic Lake Center” expected to open in January 2018
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) and Mystic Lake Casino Hotel broke ground today on a new hotel tower and state-of-the-art convention center called “Mystic Lake Center.” The project, to be built by PCL Construction, is expected to create up to 400 construction jobs and approximately 100 permanent jobs.
